Like many of you when I first set out to try to figure out this crazy process of dating I turned to my friends. The most common piece of advice is be confident. Oh wow thanks it is so much clearer to me now! If I knew how to be confident don’t you think I would be doing it already? Majority of the time your friends who are telling you this don’t know even know what this really means. Today we will examine how one displays confidence. While the mental aspect of confidence is the most important part knowing how to physically and verbally display confidence will help you develop the mindset to go along with it.

Body Language

It is said that body language is roughly 65% of human communication so it only makes sense that we start with this. Think about the people in your life that you consider to be confident. How do they stand? A confident man generally stands up straight with his shoulders back and his head held high. It doesn’t matter if he’s 5’5” or 6’5”. The next part of this is they own their space. Owning your space is about standing with your feet about shoulder width apart and not moving. Someone who isn’t confident generally stands with their feet closer together but is also constantly moving their feet instead of standing still in one place. Next time you’re having a conversation with someone look at how you stand. Are you doing these things?

Next question how does a confident person walk? When walking around do they hop out of everyone’s way or do people move for them? Also notice that confident people walk slower than most people and keep their head high to observe their surroundings. When looking for friends at a bar they stop and take their time to look for their friends instead of stopping for a brief second looking around side to side quickly then continuing to walk around the bar quickly.

The most important thing to take away from this is a confident person can be spotted the second they walk into a bar and is communicating with everyone in the room without saying a word. If you think women don’t notice a confident man when he walks by then you are dead wrong! This is part of what leads to women hitting on men instead of the other way around. A confident man walks around like he has a 10 lbs cock and brass balls to match!

Voice

Tone of voice is considered to be 20% of communication and easily more important than the words coming out of your mouth.  Confident people are usually loud and project very well. They don’t care if other people are listening. Remember the quiet and shy nerd who isn’t good with women stereotype was created for a reason. Confident people will also say everything as if it’s a well known fact. Basically they are sure of everything they say.

Have you ever noticed the pace a confident person keeps when speaking. When the president addresses us on television does he speak quickly or slowly? By speaking slowly you show that you aren’t worried about people losing interest. Think about the times you were worried about people listening. How fast were you talking?

When engaged in conversation with someone who is confident the way they speak along with their body language displays confidence immediately and consistently. They can talk about something as boring as grocery shopping yet you know they are a confident person.

Owning Your Words/Actions

Now this is where the mentality of a confident person starts to come in. Are they ashamed or embarrassed by their actions or words? Never! Before I joined the dating community I never really understood some of the things my friend used to be able to get away with people in general not just women. He would hit on girls in front of other girls and say crazy things to everyone.  Start owning your words and actions. It’s ok for you to do what you want.

If a woman asked a confident man if he just wants sex what do you think his answer would be? Would he make something up or answer honestly? If that is all he wants he will tell her that or if he wants to date her he will say it. Confident people are generally very honest people because they know that their life, their actions, and their feelings are nothing to be ashamed of.
