Michael Phelps is probably the most inspiring athlete I have seen.
Like many of you I have been tuning into the Olympics which in my opinion is one of the most inspiring and motivational events. It is truly amazing to see some of these people compete. Beyond that it also motivates me to get out there and do more with my life. If a 13 year old girl has the motivation to train every single day to be the best gymnast then I can get off my ass to clean my apartment and hit the gym! The Olympics are proof that if you create clear goals, create a plan, and develop habits you can achieve almost anything.
Create Clear Goals
Is your goal to lose weight? Maybe you want to buy a house or a new car? Maybe it is to get laid more often? First thing you must do is create clear goals, both short term and long term. For losing weight you might set the short term goal of 85% of your meals being healthy low calorie meals that you make yourself. Then you can add the short term goal of losing 1-2 lbs per week with the long term goal of losing 20 lbs within 4 months. Maybe you want to save $6,000. So the short term goal might be to save $500 a month by depositing a % of your paychecks. Whatever it might be create clear short term and long term schools.
Create A Plan

While I do think Usain Bolt is a douche he is an amazing runner.
What do you need to do to achieve your short term and long term goals? Do you need to bring your lunch to work to save the amount of money you want in the time period you set? Do you need to eat less to lose that last 10 lbs? Do you need to start talking to more girls each day to get laid more or meet the woman of your dreams? Figure it out then write it down!
Develop Habits
One big mistake people make is to try a complete life overhaul to achieve their goals. People who want to lose weight will commit to eating extremely healthy every single day and working out every single day. Let’s be honest that is a lot if you’re going from eating burgers everyday and not working out. Why not commit to eating less each day for a month then commit to eating a better lunch for a month and so on. Small changes that end up becoming daily habits are the key. If you want to meet more women then guess what maybe the first step is just talking to one stranger each day for a month before you can commit to talking to more women. After all you can’t just make the jump to having more sex!
Bonus Tip

Missy Franklin grew up just outside Denver Colorado and has been killing it in the Olympics!
Make sure you associate yourself with people who are successful in the areas you want to be successful. They might not be able to explain how to be successful in those areas to you but it will definitely give you some motivation.
It doesn’t matter if you’re Michael Phelps. Usain Bolt, or Lebron James you don’t achieve goals just by saying you’re going to do something then blindly trying. You get there by creating a plan and then putting it into action. Don’t wait for the Olympics to come back around to be inspired to do great things!
