Muscle Peacoking

Paul mentioned peacocking before. What is peacocking? And might a muscular body be the best way to peacock?

In pick up, peacocking essentially means that a guy uses an outstanding accessory, so that people (hopefully girls) will comment on it, therefore they can have a conversation and then get laid. It could be a funny watch or a colorful t-shirt.

I heard an interesting theory about peacocking and how the term actually arose: If you look at a male peacock that gets laid a lot, you will notice that it has blue and outstanding feathers. These feathers DO NOTHING except attracting females. It can’t fly with it, it can’t fight with it and it is actually backfiring because predators will find the colorful peacock easily.

You don’t need to be big to look strong. Zac Efron is 5’10″ 160 lbs.

The point of it is to display survival value (I’m kind of into primal like pick up lol). By having such visible feathers and not getting killed, the peacock shows that it knows how to flee from predators, perhaps how to fight them and good places to hide. Obviously females want that for their children, so they decide to mate with the peacock.

Let’s get back to the human world. I personally have experienced an issue with colorful clothes and accessories. EVERYBODY WEARS THEM! Seriously, if you go to any store, even vogue brands like Calvin Klein or Armani, they all sell this colorful stuff. So with current popular brand clothing, it is hard to really stand out (peacock).

My personal favorite way of peacocking is working out with weights. You will actually gain more than just a new t-shirt or accessory (I’m talking about improving life as a whole) and you will make it clear that there is more to you than spending money at the mall. Whenever I’m at public places (it doesn’t even have to be a club or something like that) people notice my body. Peacocking much? Damn straight!

Lots of women say that they feel secure around a muscular man. Does it make sense? I mean most of the people reading this live in a place where they can simply call the cops if they are in trouble. It really doesn’t have to make sense, it’s all about the feeling of security that a woman gets around a broad shouldered man.

Another part of “muscle-peacocking” is that you display that you are confident enough in yourself to show what you worked so hard for. I’m not talking about taking steroids and wearing a shirt 3 sizes smaller than what is necessary, that’s just insecure. What I mean is showing that you take care of yourself and that you have respect for yourself. Ergo you present survival value. Trust me on this one, people will comment on this and girls like it.

For example, I went to a house party a few months ago and ended up hooking up with a girl. We went to the bathroom and took each others clothes off. Oh boy! When I took my shirt of she stood there with her mouth wide open, it seemed as if she were completely paralyzed. If I hadn’t interfered by kissing her, I don’t know how much longer she would have stood there just looking at me. I think you can guess how things went along from there. Btw, I have lots of stories like that.

Another time I went to a club with a few buddies of mine. I ended up hanging out with another group because my friends left and I wanted to stay. I got so many compliments for my body it was pretty ridiculous, I must admit though, most of the compliments were from the guys (not gay!) at our table. But that really fired me up! My confidence was boosted through the roof and I started approaching the hottest girls at the club. Sadly I didn’t get any action, but what I did get was a learning experience. Ever since that night I have NO PROBLEM approaching and talking to hot girls!

Let’s be honest, the reason most guys don’t get the action they want is not because of money, looks or status. The real reason is that they simply don’t approach girls and most of the time if they do, they don’t know what to say or do. Except of course if you know that you’re hot and get confidence boosts due to comments and looks from others all the time.

The couple that workouts together stays together!

All in all, building a butch body is the best way of peacocking in my book. You get lots of compliments, attention, respect and the list goes on and on. Not only will you improve your game but you will also improve your whole life! Some examples include: health, improved mental acuity, better sex, less depression and so on and so forth. I hope you stop investing time in buying “trendy” clothes and start investing time in the gym.

Most programs will have you looking like a stage ready fitness competitor within 6 months, which is good if you want to compete. Most guys just want to have abs and a body that women actually desire (not a spray tan bodybuilder).

Book Review – Man 2.0 Engineering The Alpha

By now you have probably heard of the book Man 2.0 Engineering The Alpha. One of the authors of the book is John Romaniello, one of the best and most popular fitness bloggers out there. I have been following him for a while and I immediately ordered this book after hearing about it.

What Is It About?

Man 2.0 Engineering The Alpha is advertised as a fitness and lifestyle book but the lifestyle part is a bit of a stretch. It emphasizes changing your life by using diet and fitness which I actually like. Speaking for myself I had my shit together back when I was fat but my life improved even more when I started taking my health seriously. When you improve and control every aspect of your life it really does change your overall mood in ways you can’t really imagine. With all that said this book isn’t really going to offer much along the lines of positive thinking or any other advice for improving your life.

Tyler Durden is a great example of the traditional alpha male, albeit a fucking crazy example!

The book starts out defining the traditional alpha male and addresses the negative aspects of the traditional alpha male. After they define the traits of the new alpha male and go on to list their rules for an alpha male. This is probably my favorite part of the book and something every person can benefit from reading. The book is all about creating the best version of yourself and I personally plan on adding some of these rules to my own life and there are a few traits that I plan on trying to develop.

Optimizing Your Hormones

The focus of the book is optimizing your hormones through a combination of diet and exercise. Most people that try to create their own diet and workout programs have absolutely no damn clue what they’re doing even though they think they do. For most guys they start eating nothing but salads and sandwiches ignoring their fat and carbohydrate intake. They end up feeling like shit thinking they’re in “starvation mode” when really they have just caused even more damage to their hormones than their previous crappy diet was causing. Your average man in his 20s and 30s has the hormonal make up of a guy 15 – 20 years older due to lack of physical activity and poor diet.

What really sets this book apart from the rest of the fitness books out there is it addresses hormonal balance along with a detailed diet and exercise program. Most books out there will either give you a detailed exercise program with basic diet advice or vice versa, but not Man 2.0! Also when I say detailed man do I mean detailed! They give you all the scientific research to support their claims. Later in the book they give you all the formulas to figure out your protein, fat, and carbohydrate intake along with food lists and sample meal plans. After you get the diet handled they give you the workout program with pictures of the exercises. This book really is the complete package!

Who Is It For?

If this is you on a daily basis you will benefit from following the plan in this book!

This book is great for any guy who is looking to improve his body and change how he feels on a daily basis. I remember many days sitting at work not only being unhappy with my body but also just feeling tired all the time. This book will help you transform your body and mood along with giving you detailed knowledge of how your body functions. If you’re already working out, eating healthy, and still wish you felt or looked a little better this book is also for you. I really feel this is the most complete fitness book I have ever seen and I have recommended it to a few of my guy friends.
